Syracuse, New York’s waterfront outdoor concert venue has a new name. Formerly known as simply Lakeview Amphitheater, the official name for the facility is now St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview. That’s a pretty long name. Wonder if people will continue to call it Lakeview or start referring to it as St. Joseph’s?
Naming rights for the venue were purchased by St. Joseph’s Health earlier in the year. Revenue from the naming deal are to be set aside for maintenance and capital improvements at the Onondaga County owned venue.
There are lots of concerts lined up for the remainder of the season at St. Joseph’s, including shows by Janet Jackson, Luke Bryan, Chicago & REO Speedwagon, Pentatonix, and more. The Syracuse venue seems to be a popular stop for hard rockers, with shows scheduled for Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, Anthrax/Slayer/Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, and Ozzy Osbourne.
The amphitheater’s location on the shores of Onondago Lake provides a nice setting for outdoor music, and there are plenty of affordable nearby hotels available if you need a place to stay.
