Baltimore’s Pier Six Concert Pavilion Undergoes Renovations, Becomes MECU Pavilion

Baltimore’s outdoor waterfront concert venue, long known as Pier Six Pavilion for its location on Pier Six in the Inner Harbor, has been renamed MECU Pavilion. According to an April 24, 2018 article in the Baltimore Sun, Municipal Employees Credit Union of Baltimore purchased the naming rights to the venue for an undisclosed sum.

In addition to a new name, the venue is getting a new roof, new seats, and concessions improvements. This is all part of a multi-million dollar renovation project aimed at improving the concert experience for both the audience and performers. The venue originally opened in 1981.

MECU Pavilion’s location at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor provides concert-goers with many options for nearby hotels, restaurants, and attractions. You can walk to MECU Pavilion in 10 minutes or less from many Inner Harbor hotels, including Pier 5 Hotel, Homewood Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor, Hilton Garden Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor, Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, and Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore.

Entertainment at MECU Pavilion is managed by LiveNation. The 2018 concert season at the venue include appearances by Primus, Khalid, Lucinda Williams – Steve Earl – Dwight Yokam, Peter Frampton & the Steve Miller Band, Slightly Stoopid, and 3 Doors Down.
