One Ski Resort, Two Festivals
The hills will be alive with music in New York’s Catskills Mountains on the weekends of June 9th and June 16th as Hunter Mountain Ski Resort plays host to back-to-back music festivals – Taste of Country Music Festival and Mountain Jam.
Both events have on-site camping available at the resort and both have event producers Townsquare Media Group and Chet-5 Festivals in common (Mountain Jam’s production team also includes Radio Woodstock). The music for each festival, however, is quite different.
Taste of County Music Festival, billed as “the Northeast’s Biggest Country Music Party,” provides three days of country music on two stages, June 9 – 11 at Hunter Mountain resort.
The 2017 performer line-up for Taste of Country includes Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, Chris Young, Kip Moore, Tyler Farr, Maren Morris, Joe Nichols, Maddie and Tae, Cody Johnson, and RaeLynn.
Mountain Jam also operates on a three-day, muliple-stage format, but with three stages of music that’s a mix of classic rock, jam bands, blues, reggae, and roots music. 2017 Mountain Jam takes place June 16 – 18.
2017 Mountain Jam performers include Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, the Steve Miller Band, The String Cheese Incident, Peter Frampton, The Head and The Heart, Gary Clark, Jr., Michael Franti & Spearhead, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, The Strumbellas, Matisyahu, Shovels & Rope, The Revivalists, Amy Helm, River Whyless, The Infamous Stringdusters, Whie Denim, and Elephant Revival.
Single-day and three-day tickets are still available for both events.
